Six Misunderstandings in the Use of Boiler Burners
Six Misunderstandings in the Use of Boiler Burners
Blindly using equipment without knowing it is dangerous. For example, if you have not been familiar with the use of boiler burners before, blind use can cause certain damage. There are six main aspects to using boiler burners. Misunderstanding, how much do you know?
1. The greater the negative pressure inside the furnace, the better
If the boiler burner is not designed to operate under negative pressure, coal, ash, smoke, and sparks will inevitably appear around the boiler burner, thereby polluting the working environment. But this does not mean that the greater the negative pressure, the better. If the negative pressure inside the furnace is too high, firstly, the power consumption of the fan will greatly increase; Secondly, the increase in furnace leakage leads to a decrease in the thermal economy of boiler burners, which is not conducive to energy conservation.
2. The pressure of the furnace is not related to safety
Whether the kiln pressure is normal has a considerable impact on equipment and personal safety. Excessive negative pressure can aggravate the wear and tear of the smoke tube and the tail convection tube wall, such as the superheater and economizer, which are several tens of times greater than normal operation. Over time, the convection tube wall will wear and thin, the main steam temperature will be too high, and accidents such as tube explosion may occur. Positive pressure combustion (excluding fuel burners) poses significant risks to the safe operation of boiler burners, mainly including the following.
(1) The working conditions of the heating surface and grate have deteriorated;
(2) The furnace door and steel frame are deformed, and the furnace wall is cracked;
(3) Increase the wear of the convection tube wall;
(4) The metal pipe wall overheats, disrupting water circulation;
(5) Easy to cause pipeline expansion and leakage;
(6) Steam contains a large amount of water, which deteriorates the quality of the steam and causes water shock;
(7) Increase the corrosion of the heated surface.
3. The more regular the sewage discharge, the better
Regular sewage discharge mainly refers to the removal of slag, dirt, and corrosion products from the bottom of the boiler burner, reducing furnace tube fouling, preventing blockage, reducing the salt content of boiler water, and enhancing heat transfer efficiency.
4. The less moisture in the fuel, the better
Textbooks generally introduce that water in fuel is a harmful component and an impurity in the fuel. Water will absorb the heat generated during fuel combustion, increasing the loss of exhaust smoke and making it difficult for coal to feed into coal powder. If the fuel oil contains water, it will cause flame pulsation and unstable combustion, and even the boiler burner will extinguish the fire. Therefore, some people believe that the less water in the fuel, the better. In fact, this is very wrong.
5. The longer the pickling time, the better
Generally speaking, the inner wall of a boiler burner can be divided into three layers after a period of use: scale layer, rust layer (Fe3O4, Fe2O3, and FeO), and iron matrix (Fe) layer. The purpose of acid cleaning is to remove the scale and rust layers (Fe3O4, Fe2O3, and FeO) on the inner wall of the boiler that cannot be washed away by high-pressure water through chemical reactions, thereby achieving enhanced heat transfer and maintaining the high thermal efficiency of the boiler burner. However, hydrochloric acid, sulfuric acid, and phosphoric acid used for pickling can remove scale and iron oxide rust layers, but inevitably attack the iron matrix (Fe) layer because the accumulation of iron oxide rust layers is uneven, and pitting corrosion and oxidation of the metal matrix are common.
6. Air leakage does not pose any harm to the operation of the boiler burner
Some people believe that the leakage of the boiler burner can reduce the gas supply to the boiler burner, which is not only harmless but also energy-saving. This is a very wrong understanding.Author:Ebico
